Basil Washington Jenkins, 72, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at a local healthcare facility. He was a member of Spring City Church of God. He was a very giving person with time and talent and loved driving his tractor and camping and was a big UT fan. He was preceded in death by his wife; Dianne Jenkins, parents; Samuel and Mae Jenkins.
He is survived by his son; Sam (Patti) Jenkins of Hixson, daughters; Teresa (Gary) Chapman and Tammy (Chandra) Manandhar both of Soddy-Daisy, brothers; Cecil Jenkins, Ronald Jenkins, grandchildren; Megan, Hannah, Laura and Libby Jenkins, Drew Keith, Matthew and Joshua Chapman, Rachel and Benjamin Manandhar.
Funeral service will be 12:30 Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Sam Philips officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. Family will receive friends from 5-9 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, NHC of Chattanooga, and her care giver Lara for their loving care.
