Claude Petty, 77, of Soddy-Daisy, died at his home on Sunday, July 24, 2005. He retired from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department after 26 years of service. After retirement, he served on the Soddy-Daisy Police Department for 12 years. Mr. Petty was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Sleety Petty. He is survived by his wife, Betty Petty; son, Claude L. Petty, of Hixson; daughters, Pam Harvey, of Dunlap, TN, Joyce Johnson, of Hixson, Carla Cooley and Janet Stephens, both of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Imogene Petty, of Ringgold, GA; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the chapel of Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Al Goss officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
