Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Lois Dobbs of Fayetteville, Georgia, peacefully left this earth on Sunday, September 9, 2007 after a short but courageous battle with lymphoma.
Lois possessed a beautiful soul and was loved by all who knew her. She was warm, selfless, and boundlessly generous. Lois believed that family was to be treasured and hers was truly the most important thing in her life. She and her husband Bobby were high school sweethearts and were still very much in love after 53 years of marriage. Their wonderful, loving union set a standard by which all others could be measured. In addition to being a great wife and mom, Lois was an awesome grandmother who doted on her two grandchildren. She loved to see her granddaughter cheer and never missed a hockey game her grandson played in. Lois never let those ref?s get away with a bad call! No one who knew Lois can think of her without recalling the delicious southern Sunday dinners she made each week for family and friends. It never mattered who or how many showed up, Lois always had a warm welcome and a plate of fabulous food. Lois was truly an incredible woman and she will be deeply missed.
Lois is survived by husband Robert L. Dobbs; sons Gregory and Emily Dobbs and Douglas and Julie Dobbs; grandchildren JoAnna Dobbs and Michael Dobbs; brothers Robert McFarland, Donny McFarland, and Roy McFarland; and nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Carl J Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. A private memorial service held with the family. Carl J Mowell & Son, Fayetteville in charge of arrangements.
