Leo W. Anschutz 1917-2000 WILSON - Leo W. Anschutz, 82, died Dec. 2, at his home. He was born Dec. 18, 1917, at Dorrance, the son of Ernest and Lena Koetkemeyer Anschutz. A lifetime resident of the Wilson area, he was a farmer and stockman. He belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wilson, the Wilson Lions Club, the Russell Elks Club and Msgr. John F. McManus American Legion Post No. 262. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. On Dec. 21, 1947, he married Gerry Cross. She died in 1986. On Dec. 12, 1987, he married Jeanne Baker. She survives. Other survivors include : a son. Warren, Sioux Falls, S.D.; a daughter, Priscilla PoPresti, Leavenworth; two stepdaughters, Eileen Grauer, Hoisington, and Linda Baker, Garden City; a brother, Paul Russell; a sister, Frances Jackman, El Dorado; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 19 nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by an infant son; and four brothers, Harold, Louis, Willis and George. Grave side service was Dec. 5 in Wilson City Cemetery, with Pastor James Wagner presiding. Military honors will be performed by Msgr. John F. McManus American Legion Post 262, Wilson. Memorial service was Dec. 5 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wilson.
